Change of Heart - Mary Calmes I read Change of Heart about a year and a half ago, and I've been side-eyeing my 4-star rating for a while now because I didn't remember much about it, and what I did remember left me feeling a little dubious. So I decided to reread the first two books as a run-up to the more recently released 3rd in this series. And you know what? I stand behind my initial rating. Is it tropey, cliched, and downright silly at times? Yep. And those are the parts I was remembering. What I forgot was that Calmes at her best has the ability to play my emotions like a fiddle. It's some kind of witchcraft, I don't even know. Best not to overthink it, I think, and just enjoy the ride.
